Summer is the peak period for loader usage and also the peak period for water tank malfunctions. The water tank is an important component of the cooling system of a loader. Its function is to dissipate the heat generated by the engine through circulating water and maintain the normal operating temperature of the engine. If there is a problem with the water tank, it can cause the engine to overheat and even damage. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain the water tank of the loader in summer. Here are some common maintenance methods:
1. Check whether there is dirt, rust, or blockage inside and outside the water tank. If there is, it should be cleaned or replaced in a timely manner. When cleaning, you can use a soft bristled brush or compressed air to blow off the surface dust, and then rinse with clean water. If there is rust or blockage, it can be soaked in a specialized cleaning agent or acidic solution, and then rinsed clean with clean water.
2. Check if the coolant in the water tank is sufficient, clean, and qualified. If it is insufficient, it should be supplemented in a timely manner. If it is not clean or unqualified, it should be replaced in a timely manner. When replacing, the old coolant should be drained first, then rinse the inside of the water tank with clean water, and then add new coolant. The type and proportion of coolant should be selected according to the instructions of the loader or the manufacturer's requirements.
3. Check whether the water tank cover is well sealed and whether there are cracks or deformations. If there is, it should be replaced in a timely manner. The water tank cover is an important component to maintain the pressure inside the water tank. If not sealed properly, it can cause the coolant to evaporate too quickly and reduce the cooling effect.
4. Check if there is any leakage or looseness in the connection parts between the water tank, engine, radiator, etc. If there are any, timely tighten or replace sealing gaskets, rubber hoses and other parts. Leakage or looseness can cause coolant loss, affecting the normal operation of the cooling system.
5. Regularly inspect, clean, and replace the coolant in the water tank. It is generally recommended to do so once a year or every 10000 kilometers traveled. This can extend the service life of the water tank, improve the efficiency and safety of the loader.
